Digital-Football.com featured on talkSPORT radio
Digital-Football.com founder and lead editor Sean Walsh was featured on the UKs leading Sports radio national station talkSPORT on Monday night. Digital-Football.com has long had great coverage in the mainstream press, and it has been the second time we’ve been asked to speak live on air about the importance of Sports Social Media.
Following Andy Murray’s historic Wimbledon victory at the weekend, Walsh was asked about what the role of Social Media is in Sports in today’s technology driven world, and whether sports was helping Twitter become popular or it was the other way round.
As long standing advocates of Sports Social Media, Walsh remarked,
“Twitter gives you a fantastic platform to watch sport and use Social Media to listen to pundit, find debates, put your own opinion out there, find out what the experts have to say. It’s a fantastic barometer of finding out the opinion and sentiment around a sporting event and very quickly getting the opinions of millions worldwide.”
Walsh also pointed out how sport has become an integral part of Social Media, particularly on channels like Twitter where users are regularly logging in to follow their favourite clubs, sporting heroes and journalists.
You can listen to our segment on the talkSPORT website around the 15 minute mark: http://www.talksport.co.uk/radio/listen-again/episode/120456.
