The stats come courtesy of ExactTarget Social Media lab who tracked and monitored the social media activity before and during the event. Some insights from their research includes:

• – Over 1.2 million tweets during the match
• – Roberto Di Matteo was the top tweeted coach with 24,983 tweets
• – Samsung declared victors as top tweet sponsor with over 90% of the sponsor tweets
• – The top re-tweeted tweet have 7015 Retweets
• – Great Britain led the countries with the most tweets at 22.83%
• – Majority of the Tweet were in English with 68%
