Only last week Digital-Football.com suggested that\u00a0clubs might start flocking to the Social Media network of the hour \u2013 Pinterest<\/a>. Well, this evening it was brought to our attention (by\u00a0@Di_Elle<\/a>\u00a0on Twitter) that the Italian side were the first in Europe (as far as we can tell) to use the platform.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0AS Roma Pinterest page<\/a>\u00a0is really quite impressive and already boasts 21 boards and 529 pins. The Serie A team clearly understand the channel and have immediately focussed on providing their fanbase with content they want. Pinterest is an ideal tool to curate content and organise club collateral into visually interesting \u201cboards\u201d.<\/p>\n

AS Roma<\/a>\u00a0boards so far include:<\/p>\n

\n
• – Iconic photography from their history (as we suggested in our article last week)<\/li>\n
• – A board with images of every player in the 2011\/12 squad<\/li>\n
• – Official club videos<\/li>\n
• – Individual boards for merchandise (so boards for mens clothes, womens, childrens, hats, bags, homeware \u2013 all appealing to the \u201cfashionista\u201d community of Pinterest)<\/li>\n
• – Every cover from their official club programme<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

  Most importantly however, Roma recognise that their fans should be included in their official club presence and as such have curated boards specifically for fan photography, fan videos and even a selection of\u00a0amazing AS Roma themed cakes<\/a>\u00a0(because lets face it, you can\u2019t avoid cakes on Pinterest!).<\/p>\n

  The AS Roma Pinterest is a fine example for other clubs to follow \u2013 it clearly shows their understand the channel (the fact they have focused on fashion, cakes and photos shows they understand the community). But also they understand how to use the technology to curate fan content and really get the fans involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
